Traditional psychotherapy at Enso Counseling & Wellness is a collaborative, trauma-informed process designed to help you explore thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life patterns in depth.
Our clinicians work with individuals across the lifespan—children, adolescents, and adults—in a space that honors your lived experience and supports meaningful growth. Traditional psychotherapy is rooted in evidence-based approaches and tailored to your needs, goals, and pace.
Traditional psychotherapy at Enso is grounded in a trauma-informed approach. This means we understand that many emotional and behavioral patterns developed as adaptations to earlier experiences—not personal failures—and that safety, choice, and collaboration are essential for healing.
Sessions are paced with care and guided by your consent. You are never pressured to relive traumatic experiences, disclose details before you’re ready, or “go deeper” for the sake of productivity. We focus on how past experiences show up in the present, helping you build awareness, agency, and flexibility rather than retraumatization.
Therapy sessions are real and human. Some days involve quiet reflection or skill-building. Other days might include crying, laughing, swearing at capitalism, or noticing how stress lives in your body. All of it is welcome. Therapy may draw on mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative reflection, and other evidence-informed strategies that help you understand how past patterns show up now. There is no right way to do therapy here. Healing isn’t tidy, and it doesn’t have to be polite—our clinicians meet you with presence, curiosity, and respect.
Our clinicians also recognize that trauma does not exist in a vacuum. Systems, power dynamics, identity, and societal expectations shape how distress develops and how safe it feels to heal. A feminist-informed, socially conscious lens helps us name these forces while supporting clients in reclaiming self-trust, self-compassion, and choice.
The goal is not to “fix” you, but to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel safer, more resourced, and more connected to yourself over time. Traditional psychotherapy at Enso is for people who want thoughtful, genuine therapeutic support—intentional, grounded, and respectful of your whole self.
Our clinicians offer individual sessions to children, adolescents, and adults. Family and couple sessions are not currently being offered.
Private pay and some insurance clients are accepted through Simple Practice. Other nationally accepted insurances are accepted through Headway.
Whether you are not located in the area or work or life obligations do not allow for in-person visits, telehealth services are also offered through any of the platforms above for clients physically located in the state of Pennsylvania.
Telehealth requires video and audio (no counseling over phone or text!) and is delivered through a HIPAA-compliant platform.
Enso Counseling & Wellness, LLC is currently in-network with the following commercial insurances: Geisinger, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Optum, & Cigna. We are currently working on Independence Administrators (for virtual clients only) and UPMC. HSA and FSA are accepted.
Geisinger Gold and CHIP (through Geisinger and Highmark) are also accepted!
If you are not covered by insurance, you do not wish to use your insurance, or we are not in network with your insurance, there are several options.
Every client who uses private pay (debit or credit cards are the only accepted form of payment) will receive a Good Faith Estimate, at the start of services and yearly thereafter, in compliance with the No Surprises Act of 2022.
Some clients do not prefer to use insurance, even if the therapist is in network, due to privacy preferences. An Opt-Out form will be required yearly. If you are opting out of using insurance that we accept, you will not be allowed to submit for reimbursement.
If you cannot afford the cost of out-of-pocket treatment, a sliding scale is offered for members of Open Practice Psychotherapy Collective.
If your insurance is not in network, you may request a superbill monthly to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
Enso Counseling & Wellness, LLC also partners with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy; Mentaya will complete the superbill process for you. Use this tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for services.
